Course Details

This course shall provide theoretical and practical knowledge in erecting, using, inspecting, modifying and dismantling supported base scaffolds. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to perform:

Safe erection, inspection, and use of scaffold

Safe and proper handling of components

Effective communication  procedures

Practical Component

The practical component consists of participants performing a realistic scenario to demonstrate the safe erection, inspection and use of a scaffold.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements

Please note, participants will be responsible for supplying the following PPE to participate in the practical exercise of the course:

  • CSA approved safety hat
  • CSA approved eye protection
  • CSA approved safety boots
  • Gloves
  • Long Pants
  • Coveralls are also recommended but not essential

Course Format

The course consists of both formal instruction and practical training. Instruction includes, classroom based theory with a power point presentation. The practical training consists of demonstration and application of theory based on knowledge.

Course Duration

Three Days (24 hours)

As a pre-requisite to the Competent Scaffold Erector course; a copy of a valid Fall Protection certificate is required.
