Senior Operations Accountant

 

Reports to:                  Regional Controller  

Location:                     St. John’s, NL

JOB SUMMARY

Prepare monthly aged accounts receivable report and reconcile balance sheet accounts.  Prepare the monthly reporting book.  Preparing rebill, crew costs, and day work labor invoices.  Provide assistance to Regional Controller as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent.
  • 6 – 8 years of experience with general accounting and/or financial reporting.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in the oil field industry.
  • Familiarity with appropriate software and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Create customer invoices for assigned operational area.
  • Contact customer on a weekly basis on outstanding invoices.
  • Prepare monthly aged accounts receivable report.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensure that the unbilled accounts receivable account is current.
  • Invoice mobilization revenue and monitor and verify related mobilization expenses.
  • Update monthly revenue forecast and research invoice discrepancies.
  • Maintain files as necessary for department recordkeeping.
  • Prepare quarterly revenue by customer schedule and other schedules.
  • Prepare monthly reporting book.
  • Maintain bank a/c and ensure payments to local & international vendors are recorded correctly and according to policies
  • Prepare, submit & reconcile local GST/VAT returns to ensure compliance with local tax regulations
  • Prepare intercompany invoices if required
  • Provide local accounting support to the local Drilling Superintendents
  • Other duties as assigned
