Assistant Rig Manager

 

Reports to:                  Rig Manager

Location:                     Offshore, Nova Scotia

Unit:                           Noble Regina Allen, Jack Up

Number of Positions: 2         

 

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the operational safety, efficiency, production, and client relations of the drilling unit.  Implement and uphold safety and environmental compliance requirements.  Provide onboard leadership and direction for meeting the customers drilling program requirements within Noble programs, policies and procedures.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years previous experience
  • Previous Experience on a Cyber Jack-Up preferred
  • MOU / Self-Elevating OIM License preferred
  • Strong technical background in all aspects of drilling operations and support equipment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and management skills.
  • Proficient computer skills in office software and company proprietary software.
  • Experience in marine environmental and hazardous material regulations and procedures.
  • Experience in offshore marine operations, industrial environment, and drilling operations.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks on a daily basis and to follow-up on all tasking to completion.
  • Ability to claim and accept ownership of rig equipment and processes, and to provide appropriate leadership when called upon.
  • Excellent customer service skills to deal with all customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Directly represent Noble Drilling on board the unit and responsible for the overall operation, management, and safety of the unit offshore.
  • Ensure that all operations proceed in a safe manner, and correct or notify responsible parties of any unsafe acts and/or conditions which exist.  Be familiar with and work in accordance with the HSE Case Handbook. 
  • Ensure correct manning level is maintained with sufficiently qualified and competent personnel.
  • Confirm that handovers, both own and various departments, have relevant information for the safe and efficient running of the operation.
  • Plan and supervise rig activities such as repairs, daily maintenance of drilling fluids, rigging up or down, etc.  Ensures all activities are coordinated with a minimal loss of time or effort.
  • Coordinate with designated supervisors concerning all evolutions affecting the vessel ballast and preloading.
