Instrumentation TECHNICIAN

 

DEPARTMENT: Technical

LOCATION: Offshore Newfoundland

POSITION: Temporary Fill-in

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible to ensure work orders are completed within their scheduled time scale in order to keep backlogs minimal, and complete an accurate history of repairs and/or maintenance is recorded under the “Technical History” on the closed SAP “Operation Control Ticket” (Work Order). Responsible to advise of modifications changes to procedures and/or frequencies, which will improve the Maintenance system, and complete SAP “Maintenance Routine Changes as required (hard copy). Note:  Do not undertake any programming changes unless it is fully approved by Drilling Maintenance Coordinator.  Responsible to ensure equipment failure is kept to a minimum within contractual limits.
  • Ensure replacement parts are kept to a minimum by maximum use of repair facilities available.
  • Maintain good two-way communication with team member’s operator representative.
  • Responsible to ensure maintenance records are accurately completed and calibration sheets forwarded to the DMS Technician.
  • Responsible to “green line” drawings to reflect all modifications and maintain all drawings in good condition.
  • Responsible to ensure entries on permits, isolation tags and logs accurately reflect the current status of equipment.
  • Responsible to ensure a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) is done for each work task and a JSA is attached to every work permit.
  • Responsible to ensure material requisitions accurately reflect the desired materials and /or services.
  • Participate in the development of newly appointed team members.
  • Participate in pre-shift safety meetings to enable safe and efficient handover from previous shift.
  • Participate in company approved and recommended training as required both on and offshore.
  • Regulatory compliance related to function.
  • Relief of other team members as required.
  • Assist team in maintenance of equipment as required.
  • Safe & efficient operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Paragon Offshore Operator Environmental, Safety and Quality Management System thus allowing for safe, efficient operations.
  • Other duties that might be required to fulfill role.

PREREQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Journeyman certification
  • Basic Survival training (BST)
  • H2S Alive
  • First Aid
  • WHMIS
  • Hazardous EX training
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Fall Protection
  • Authorized Gas tester
  • CAPP Medical
  • Respiratory fit testing
